I don't know why I originally picked up The False Prince but I believe it had to do with the cover. I am constantly picking up books with nice covers. Half way into that book I knew that I loved it and the main character, Sage/Jaron, and everything about him. He is witty, he is clever, he is talented, he is strong, he is brave, he is kind. If I could choose any king to live under, it would be him without a doubt because with him leading the way there will always be a wonderful ending. (Even if there's a lot of pain and suffering down that path).
The Shadow Throne was no different than the previous two books in this trilogy showing what an amazing character Jaron is and going through his story realistically and rather beautifully. Though admittedly, I did have a hard time staying focused during The Shadow Throne.
I'm not sure if the final copy will be more edited, but the arc was quite a bit wordy here and there. I know at one point I sighed while Jaron was describing where a battle was taking place. There were entire paragraphs giving extreme details of Jaron's plans and honestly, things like that are always hard to follow without an actual map in mind.
Everything else done, from the dialogue to the fight scenes was done well and easy to read.
Thank you so much for an amazing story and I'm glad I've gotten to read it to its incredible end. I look forward to reading more books from Nielsen!

It's a middle grade so that might be why! It's a high fantasy so I'd definitely recommend if adventure and a sarcastic main character are your thing!
