Kaniesha's Waiting on Wednesday #16: Of Neptune by Anna Banks

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly meme, hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we’re eagerly anticipating.

Title: Of Neptune
Author: Anna Banks
Series: The Syrena Trilogy #3
Release date: May 1, 2014

Synopsis: Emma and Galen's kingdom and their love is threatened by long-lost Syrena in the brilliant conclusion to Anna Banks bestselling trilogy.

Emma, half human and half Syrena, and her Syrena love, Galen, need time together alone. Away from the kingdoms of Poseidon and Triton. Emma s grandfather, the Poseidon king, suggests the two visit a small town called Neptune.

Neptune is home to both Syrena and Half-Breeds alike. But Emma and Galen didn t sign up to be peacemakers between the ocean and the land-dwelling, freshwater Syrena. They didn t bargain for meeting a charming Half-Breed named Reed, who can barely disguise his feelings for Emma. And they especially didn t expect to find themselves in the middle of a power struggle that threatens not only their love but their ocean kingdoms.

In this stunning conclusion to her bestselling Syrena Legacy, Anna Banks thrills fans with more action and romance than ever.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!! IT'S FINALLY GOING TO END!! I NEED TO EXPRESS MY FEELINGS THROUGH CAPS LOCK!!! AHHHHHH!!!

Breathes, breeeeathes. I said "finally" but I really don't actually want it to end. I have no idea how I found Of Poseidon in the first place in 2012 but I am soooo glad that I did. This is such a cute (and intense) trilogy and Galen is The Best. Book boyfriends? Definitely yes. And there's two! Two book boyfriends! I didn't mention Toraf. Trust me, you want to read these for Galen and Toraf.

Kaniesha's Waiting on Wednesday #15: Illusion by Sherrilyn Kenyon

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly meme, hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we’re eagerly anticipating.

Title: Illusion
Author: Sherrilyn Kenyon
Series: Chronicles of Nick #5
Release date: April 1, 2014

Synopsis: Be careful what you wish for . . . You just might get it.

Nick Gautier is tired of his destiny. He doesn't want to be the son of a demon who’s fated to end the world. Nor does he want to see another demon or other preternatural creature who wants to kill or enslave him. He just wants to be normal and have normal problems like everyone else.

But normality isn't all it’s cracked up to be. When he gets sucked into an alternate reality where his mother has married his mentor and his Atlantean god best friend has become a human geek, he begins to understand that no life is free of pain, and that every person has a specific place in the universe . . . Even the son of a hated demon. Most of all, he sees that his powers aren't the curse he thought they were, and that the world needs a champion, especially one its enemies can’t imagine rising up to defend the ones he should destroy.

Old enemies and new friends square off for a major battle that will either restore Nick to his real world, or end him forever.

I've gone on about this series before and I even made my mom read the books. I don't read a lot of books with male POV - not because I don't want to, but because I never come across too many - and this is a GREAT series. It changed the way I think about a lot of things. I think this one might be the last in the series and I'm sad about that but I'm also definitely ready to let it go. And ready to see what choices Nick makes!

In a novel filled with magic, romance and breakneck action, master storytelling Andrea Cremer's newest installment will not disappoint!

The Nightshade trilogy and prequel series are five of my favorite books! I love the characters, the romance, the heartbreak and especially werewolves. Synopsis: Jules should be happy. She saved a lot of people’s lives and she’s finally with Sawyer, pretty much the guy of her dreams. But the nightmare’s not over, because she somehow managed to pass the psycho vision stuff to Sawyer. Excellent.

Feeling responsible for what he’s going through and knowing that people’s lives are at stake, Jules is determined to help him figure it all out. But Sawyer’s vision is so awful he can barely describe it, much less make sense of it. All he can tell her is there’s a gun, and eleven ear-splitting shots. Bang.

Jules and Sawyer have to work out the details fast, because the visions are getting worse and that means only one thing: time is running out. But every clue they see takes them down the wrong path. If they can’t prevent the vision from happening, lives will be lost. And they may be among the casualties…

I read the first book in the series earlier this year, it takes a little bit of reading to really get into it but once I did I LOVED it. It is definitely one of my favorite 2013 reads. So excited the sequel is coming out so soon in relation to it!
