Top Ten Tuesday is a book blog meme created and hosted by The Broke and The Bookish. This week we're choosing the top ten books to read if you like (x) our choice! I chose Adventure Time!
1. Chronicles of Nick by Sherrilyn Kenyon (5 books in series so far, 6th planned)
The Chronicles of Nick and Adventure Time actually have a bit in common. There's a cute, sarcastic MC with a badass best friend, some other cool people and a crazy, unpredictable plot. 10/10 highly recommend.
2. Percy Jackson and the Olympians and Heroes of Olympus by Rick Riordan (10 books total)
Same as above, really. Percy is a lot less sarcastic than Nick though.
3. The Ascendance Trilogy by Jennifer A. Nielsen (3 books total)
Brilliant, clever MC trying to save everyone in/and his kingdom. Sound familiar?
4. The Legend Trilogy by Marie Lu (3 books total)
These three books alternate between a male and female POV but they're both kick-ass.
5. Maximum Ride by James Patterson (8 books total)
THIS is the weirdest, dumbest series of books I've ever read. It reminds me a lot of Adventure Time because they're kids in actual danger but still find ways to laugh with and enjoy each other.
6. The Darkest Powers and Darkness Rising by Kelley Armstrong (6 books total)
These two series are actually trilogies. The second continues the story of the first with brand new characters. They're pretty light books but still interesting and I was very much in love with them while reading them.
7. Pendragon by D.J. MacHale (10 books total)
This is definitely my favorite series with a male MC. These books are a trip from start to finish. Not a hilarious trip (all the time..) but still a trip. Wonderful, lovable characters. All of them! Well except the antagonist but that's a given.
8. The Seven Realms by Cinda Williams Chima (4 books total)
Unlike the rest of the books I've recommended here, this series is not modern. It's actually some sort of medieval AU, high fantasy, but it's INCREDIBLE. We have a dual pov between a girl and a boy again, and their goals are basically to survive but to take their kingdom back and seek revenge respectively.
9. The Daughter of Smoke & Bone by Laini Taylor (3 books total)
This recommendation is pretty far fetched too but it's also extremely magical. I think Adventure Time fans would really like it. Older fans, that is.
10. The Elementals by Brigid Kemmerer (5 books so far, 6th planned)
This is actually my least recommended for Adventure Time fans - maybe for AT fans that like drama. These books are heavy on the drama.
Do you like Adventure Time and agree with my choices? Have any suggestions for this list? I hope I didn't miss any funny books/funny mcs!
